Brothers Roofing Supply was started in September of 1969 in Queens New York.
Sam Kersch and his two partners felt that the time was just right for a Roofing,
Siding, and Sheet Metal Supply in this area of New York City. Both Sam Kersch
and his partners had a very long history of servicing the area as contractors and
saw a need for this type of business in this particular location. Sams partners
were long time waterproofing professionals, and Sam Kersch had been doing
Roofing, Siding, and Custom Sheet Metal work since starting with his father
Morris, before World War II.

Bringing his oldest son Michael with him from an existing sheet metal specialty
shop nearby, they opened for business just as the New York Mets were making their miracle run for the World Series. In the beginning Brothers Roofing Supply sold most of the basic types of Roofing available. As time went on the product lines offered expanded to include Aluminum and Vinyl Siding, Leaders, Gutters, Skylights, Duct Work, Waterproofing Supplies, and  Tools.

In the early 1970's Sam bought out his partners, and it was then at that time,
Sams other son Bob joined the company. From then on, Brothers Roofing
Supply was completely family run with Sam, his brother Julie and sons Mike
and Bob, as it is today with the addition of Mike's son, Scott Kersch.

In the mid 1980's Brothers Roofing Supply introduced a line of Custom Made
Aluminum Flange Gutters made in house. They then became the only supplier
of Seamless Pitched Flange Gutters east of the Mississippi River. With our
Sheet Metal Shop, Gutter Machinery, and increasing product line, the existing
warehouse became much to cramped for space! Therefore in 1983 construction
was started on a new building that could contain all of our stock, inside and out
of the weather. After almost two years of planning and construction the new
building was ready just in time for the boom years of 1985 through 1987.
Having all Materials stocked inside, and out of the elements, helped business
tremendously by having our inventory stocked in a professional manor and
presenting it to our customers in a clean, dry and un weathered condition.

Since 1985 our offices have been upgraded and refurbished to help serve our
customers better. Computers have been added to keep things running smoothly.
A new location in the Bronx was added in 1993 to give better service to a larger
portion of the New York Metropolitan area. In 2004-2005 Brothers has added two new locations, Jericho Long Island and West Hempstead Long Island. Business and Technology as we know it will continue to grow, and Brothers Roofing Supply will be right there, as we have for more then the past 35 years, because at Brothers, customer service is our number one priority every single day!
